You should now be able to tell your podcast player to "re-download" the last episode and it should all work.
The Technical Bit
The host we use for our mp3 files uses both http and https. I had copied the address for the https file. While your web browser will happily connect via https and do all the secure certificate negotiation associated with the secure protocol, most RSS podcast software will not perform the secure handshake and instead reads the link as broken.
