Our first LIVE recording. We had an hour slot but recorded a regular half hour show. We were very conscious of the fact that we did not want those of you listening to the podcast after the recording to miss out because you weren't reading what's in the chat room.

We need to practice live recording a little more and make some tweaks to the recording system.

Preparation, Preparation, Preparation

I'm really looking forward to tonight's live show but I have a fair amount of prep to do before we hit that 'broadcast' button.

I've got to find the music and I've set myself a little challenge there, seeing as this is the first live show, I thought I'd find live music to play. I have one but I need two more as we are playing three songs instead of the usual two as this will give us a chance to read the comments that will (hopefully) be posted in the chat room.

I also need to figure out my topic. I have something to talk about but both darren and I feel it should be a little more organised and punchy to allow for interaction during the show.

Tweaking And Tuning

The details of the first 17 shows have now been imported into Blogger. We need to tweak the CSS a little so that the posts look a little neater.

Links start going awry if someone posts a comment to a show, what returns is the page from a sub directory which then does not have access to the CSS and the links are all trying to refer to files in a different directory.

I believe that some path statements in the template should force the pages to look in the root directory for the CSS and links no matter where the page is located.

Our tenth show, we've made it to double digits! We were trying out a new method for recording this week, Lance recorded his end of the conversation, I recorded mine and we attempted to mix the two together and then add in the music. It didn't work.
The show that has been uploaded is using the same method as always but for some reason has picked up some very loud background noise.
We will, one day get studio quality recording, just not today. So again, please do not adjust your MP3 player this show was purposefully recorded to sound like it was made in the 80's on cassette tape.
